1. Who we are
Answered AI (ABN: 32 699 844 025) is an AI products and management consultancy business headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria, serving businesses Australia-wide. We build and operate AI receptionist systems for Australian service businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. What information we collect
We collect information in two contexts:
From website visitors: Name, email address, phone number, and business details submitted via our contact or booking forms.
Through AI voice agents (on behalf of clients): Caller name, phone number, reason for calling, and appointment/booking details. This information is collected on behalf of our business clients and processed solely to fulfil the service.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and operate AI receptionist services on behalf of our business clients
- To respond to enquiries and book demonstrations
- To send weekly performance reports to our clients
- To improve the accuracy and performance of our AI systems
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data storage and security
We host and operate our service in Australia (Sydney region) where practicable. To deliver AI voice services, some information — including call audio and transcripts — is processed by specialist providers that may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.
Call recordings and transcripts are retained for a maximum of 90 days unless a longer retention period is agreed with the client in writing.
5. Disclosure to third parties
To deliver our services we rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers (such as cloud hosting, telephony, voice synthesis, and AI language processing). Some of these providers are located in, or process data from, countries outside Australia — including the United States. Each is bound by confidentiality obligations and data-processing agreements, and we remain accountable under the Privacy Act for how they handle your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. A list of our material sub-processors is available on request.
6. AI disclosure
In compliance with the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979, all AI voice agents operated by Answered AI include an upfront disclosure at the start of every call informing the caller that they are speaking with an AI assistant and that the call may be recorded.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@answeredai.com.au.
